SKIN OF MY TEETH is a soundtrack for the horror film that we live in. Akin to the horror genre, in the work of audio-visual collective WACKELKONTAKT sound plays the role of a harbinger of the impending doom.

 

Be it club music or siren alarms, humans always react to loud sounds like primordial beings. These sounds compel the brain to trigger its most primitive survival mechanisms and prepare the body for action. WACKELKONTAKT  harness this alarming nature of sound as raw material, crafting experimental compositions that evoke aesthetic experiences from within the listeners themselves.

In their week long takeover of BARBUR gallery, WACKELKONTAKT will presents a program of performances, installations and film screenings which aim to alter the potential horror of the impending doom into a poetic observation of the body that awaits it.
