Internal Works brings together seven artists for a visual dialogue that explores the space between the finished product and the mental process that precedes it.
The exhibition’s title operates on two levels: it refers to the act of creation that takes place within the closed studio, but at the same time points to the introspective journey (looking inward) that the artist undergoes when faced with raw materials.
In this exhibition, the concept of “work” is measured not only in terms of technique or labor, but also in terms of the artist’s ability to distill emotion, memory or thought into a visual object. The works on display move between
the abstract and the representational, inviting the viewer to pause and find within them an echo of human complexity.
